Interior & exterior architectural cladding systems in Torquay
Completed February 2017Custom-designed architectural cladding systems created a stand-out feature for this home in Torquay’s Lahinch Mews. The team at Total Comfort Plumbing Services worked closely with the builder and homeowner on the design and implementation of this architectural cladding project, ensuring we achieved the look the client wanted.
We installed two different types of cladding on this project, creating a unique visual appeal with an elegant, modern appeal.
We used .7mm Corten interlocking panels for the exterior, adding a gorgeous colour and textural feature to the home. Corten steel was the obvious choice for the coastal location, specifically designed to form a corrosion-resistant layer under exposure to weathering. Not only does this patina protect the facade, but also deepens to a brilliant red over time, acting as a design feature in its own right.
Inside the home, we used .55mm COLORBOND® Metallic steel in the ‘Copper Penny’ custom colour. Our team installed lightweight and low-maintenance European-style interlocking panels for a modern designer appeal.
The most challenging part was handling the massive, 7-metre interlocking panels in and around the scaffolding. But we were lucky to work with a fantastic crew of carpenters, who framed the cladding up perfectly – and the project ran as smoothly as we could hope for.
